Scott Redding doubled up in the shortened British Superbike Championship Sprint race at Assen as rain brought a premature end to proceedings.
Redding, who also dominated Race One , led the entire race, with Bradley Ray and championship leader Kyle Ryde completing the podium.
Ryde was running in second when he waved his arm to signal to race control that rain was falling, however the race continued and Ray took control of Ryde slowing to secure second. Ray waved his arm on the following lap and the red flags were waved.
With Ryde losing those two extra points to Ray, the gap to Redding in the standings is now 63 points. Ray will start Race Three from pole position after setting the fastest lap of the race.
Ryan Vickers finished fourth for Honda Racing UK, with Max Cook completing the top five for the AJN Steelstock Bimota team.
Ilya Mikhalchik secured his best-ever BSB result in sixth after getting the better of Jason O’Halloran at the final chicane, with Glenn Irwin and Lee Jackson coming home in eighth and ninth respectfully.
Andrew Irwin secured an impressive 10 th on his racing return . Irwin has been out of action since fracturing his right humerus during a private Knockhill test in June and also retired early in Race One at Assen on Saturday afternoon.
Storm Stacey finished 11 th ahead of Fraser Rogers and Danny Kent, with Scott Swann and Josh Brookes claiming the final two points on offer.
The race was delayed due to a crash for Rory Skinner on the warm-up lap due to a blow up on his Yamaha R1 . Rain was also beginning to fall in sector three.
Leon Haslam was unable to make the restart after being shown the black and orange flag on the warm-up lap. Smoke appeared to be coming from his Moto Rapido Racing Ducati .
Rhys Irwin crashed out of the race at turn three on the second lap. Christian Iddon retired due to a bike problem on lap four, whilst Joe Talbot crashed out of fifth at turn seven on the fifth lap.
The third and final BSB race of the weekend at Assen is scheduled to begin at 15:00 (UK time).
