If you’re in a hair-and-makeup rut, or just growing tired of the no-makeup makeup aesthetic preferred by Gen Z’s algorithms, the place to turn for fresh inspiration is the runway. More specifically, the spring 2027 runways from New York, London, Milan, and Paris, where makeup artists, hairstylists, and nail artists crafted some of the coolest, most unique, and most colorful looks we’ve seen in years. From the very strange and surreal (painted-on eyes, anyone?) to the downright angelic (galactic-purple highlighter), we rounded up the beauty looks you may have missed from this season’s runways.
At Hodakova, models walked the runway with eyeballs painted on their eyelids. The effect, when they blinked, was equal parts gorgeous and creepy.
At Carven, a super-low knotted bun (one of the biggest trends of the season) was decorated with a Carven-branded pencil.
Pink eyeshadow is hard to pull off, but when done right, as seen here at Marques’Almeida, the effect is almost punky.
Pink cheeks looked extra pretty when accentuated by cotton-candy-pink brows at Acne.
At Simone Rocha, models walked the runway wearing beaded and embellished eyebrows. A look to consider next time you’re between wax appointments.
At Area, the hair was designed with an intentional crease, the kind of bend you’d get from a hot tool gone wrong. But on the runway, it looked cool, graphic, and artsy.
Supermodel Irina Shayk wore a faceful of faux face piercings in Milan walking for the Attico.
The last thing we expected to see at Burberry’s spring 2027 show was a pastel, matte lilac lip—but we love it, especially paired with a yellow blouse.
Silver eyeshadow is one of spring 2027’s biggest trends, as seen here done in a painterly fashion at Antonio Marras.
At Collina Strada, models wore faux hawks created with bits of fabric, for an effect that was somehow both edgy and soft.
Porcelain chunks? In your hair? Why not—as seen here at Susan Fang.
Smudgy, just-made-out lipstick was back on the runways this season at Diesel, partially because several models did have a snog fest at the show as part of the performance.
At Julie Kegels, models wore purposefully grown-out manicures. Relatable!
A splash of white paint was the hair look this season at Di Petsa.
There was something ghostly, or slightly Victorian era vampiric, about the beauty look at Dreaming Eli, down to the smoky marbled stiletto nails.
Also at Julie Kegels, models were shown with their ponytails lopped off—a trick of the eye that’s shudder-inducing.
You’ll need a can of hairspray (or 10) to create a hair look similar to the one at Edeline Lee.
At Harris Reed, a metallic blue-purple pigment was brushed from the models’ foreheads down to their cheekbones, and even covered their ears. The effect was otherworldly and insanely gorgeous.
More silver eyes and embellished brows were spotted at KidSuper.
