Albertsons/Getty Images By Mitchell Parton --> The leader of Albertsons’ advertising business has abruptly exited one of the most prominent grocery media networks.
Brian Monahan, svp of Albertsons Media Collective, the grocery giant’s retail media network, has left the company, an Albertsons spokesperson confirmed to ADWEEK. The spokesperson said that Albertsons Media Collective will now report to Emily Turner, Albertsons CMO.
The departure was unexpected, given that Monahan was planning to speak at industry events in New York this week. Monahan did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Brian played a key role in building Albertsons Media Collective into an important and growing part of our business,” the company said in a statement.
