There isn’t a more fitting song to propose to than Bruno Mars ‘ “Marry You,” — and Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams took full advantage of the timing.

During Mars’ Oct. 2 concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, Williams got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, model Paris Timan, while the singer performed his 2010 wedding staple.

As Mars sang “Marry You,” Williams presented Timan with a ring as confetti fell around the couple. Timan was visibly emotional as she said yes, and the newly engaged pair embraced as the crowd erupted. The couple also appeared on the stadium’s massive video screens during the celebration.

SoFi Stadium later shared footage of the proposal on Instagram, writing, “It really was a beautiful night,” followed by a teary-eyed emoji and a ring emoji.

The heartfelt moment came during the second of Mars’ five shows at SoFi Stadium as part of his The Romantic Tour, which supports his fourth solo album, The Romantic . And while the proposal was quite the surprise to Timan, the soundtrack was about as on-the-nose as it gets.

Released in 2010 as part of Mars’ debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans , “Marry You” became one of the singer’s most recognizable romantic songs. The track peaked at No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011 and has since become a fixture of wedding playlists and proposal videos.

More than 15 years later, Mars is still experiencing some amazing career moves. He continues to make an appearance on the charts despite being absent for almost a decade: The Romantic debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, which was his first solo release since 2016’s 24K Magic . Its lead single, “I Just Might,” also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Mars his 10th leader on the chart and his first No. 1 debut.

Mars has continued adding to that run with “Risk It All,” the opening track from The Romantic , while “Dance With Me” — the album’s closing track and music video that stars Karol G — debuted at No. 42 on the Hot 100.
