An itinerary can tell you where a trip will take you. The more interesting question is how you might feel when you arrive. That is what drew me to The Lanserhof Reset , a wellness residency aboard Four Seasons I during its inaugural transatlantic crossing. Sailing from Las Palmas to Philipsburg from November 8–16, 2026, the voyage brings Lanserhof’s approach to longevity and preventative health into the world of Four Seasons hospitality. The setting gives the partnership its particular appeal: eight nights crossing the Atlantic, with time to settle into a routine rather than continually prepare for the next destination.
As a lover of the finest travel, I’m fascinated by experiences that reconsider how we spend our time away. A beautiful setting is part of the pleasure, of course. But the prospect of combining an ocean crossing with individual attention to wellbeing raises a more compelling possibility: a holiday that gives you room to examine how you want to live when you return. The residency offers several ways to participate. All guests have access to programming that includes expert talks, group wellness and fitness sessions, and designated hours with Lanserhof practitioners. A separate, limited-capacity personalized program begins with a physician consultation and develops an eight-day protocol around the participant, with nutrition recommendations, movement, treatments, and guidance to take home.
To understand the vision behind the partnership, I spoke with Ben Trodd, CEO of Four Seasons Yacht. Our conversation returned to one especially persuasive idea: the value of uninterrupted time. Here, Trodd discusses why the Atlantic is the setting for this next chapter in wellness travel—and how Four Seasons intends to make it feel personal.
Charlotte: What inspired Four Seasons Yachts to partner with Lanserhof for this inaugural transatlantic crossing?
Ben Trodd: From the beginning, our ambition for Four Seasons Yachts has been to create experiences that feel distinctly our own and reflect an intuitive understanding of how our guests want to spend their time. Wellbeing has always been central to that vision, and Lanserhof’s pioneering approach to longevity and preventative health felt like a natural complement to the highly personalized care and service of Four Seasons. The inaugural transatlantic crossing offered a particularly meaningful opportunity to bring our shared expertise together. Over eight uninterrupted days at sea, guests have the time and space to step away from their everyday routines and invest more deeply in their wellbeing in a truly impossible-to-match setting.
C: Why were wellness and longevity such important parts of the vision for Four Seasons I?
B: We want to prioritize what our guests naturally value while finding ways to bring them the unexpected. Some have already embraced longevity as part of their daily lives; others may be looking for a way to explore it. As a trusted partner, Four Seasons Yachts can help them do that in a way that feels personal and approachable. This thinking shaped the wellness experience aboard Four Seasons I, including L’Oceana Spa, and led to the creation of The Lanserhof Reset, which is a dedicated opportunity for guests to explore longevity at sea.
C: How does The Lanserhof Reset reflect what today’s luxury traveler is looking for?
B: Wellness is woven into how many of us live, and guests increasingly want travel to do more than accommodate their routines. They want experience…
