It’s a major year for Jamie Haller, who showed at NYFW for the first time last month and is currently a 2026 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. The Daily checked in with the West Coast-based designer and entrepreneur to the get the scoop on her buzzy namesake brand.
Tell us a little bit about your professional background! I went to college in Los Angeles and majored in Fashion Design. My first job was as an assistant in production and then an associate in design for a major retailer where I was able to see a big picture view of how a large business worked. I worked for a few large fashion retailers before venturing out to then work for smaller mom and pop style advanced-contemporary fashion labels. I spent the first 20 years of my career working for others before eventually deciding to venture out on my own.
How did you decide to go out on your own and create your own line? I guess a moment happened where I felt very clear and inspired and there kind of was no other option at that moment. I decided that it was time to say yes to myself and once that decision was made it was in motion.
How do you describe the aesthetic? Advanced casual, forward in shape, focused on luxurious materials and comfortable wear. Creating iconic silhouettes that meet a modern woman’s wardrobe needs where she lives in her everyday life.
What pieces have been resonating with customers? The shoes deeply resonate with customers because they are beautiful but also comfortable. Once you try them, you are stuck with me forever. The denim is also designed to fit a real woman’s body, with beautiful construction and high-quality fabrics. Both categories have really connected with my customers.
Congrats on being a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. What was the process like to apply and what did becoming a finalist mean to you? I’ve been following the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund for the entirety of its existence, always interested and a fan of the program. Being based in Los Angeles has its positives and negatives. I do feel outside of the fashion center being based in LA and that can work as a plus for concentration and self focus, but it’s nice to find connection with the fashion community through the fund. That has been very rewarding.
What was it like showing at NYFW last month? Having this moment within the fund, and with the support of the CFDA gave me a unique opportunity to take advantage of the moment of hosting a fashion week presentation. It was a surreal moment to live inside of my own world and have it move around me in real life. So often the design is happening in broken up pieces, on boards and in my mind. Seeing it all come to live in one place was a very rewarding moment.
Who are some designers or companies whose work you personally admire? I admire brands for different reasons. I love European designers for their world building. I’ve always admired Phoebe Philo’s work at Céline for its strong point of view while still feeling grounded in real-life dressing. I love Loewe for its playful spirit, and brands like Tibi for the personal connection and Amy Smilovic’s ability to make modern style feel so effortless and approachable.
Where can people find your pieces? Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, and Bergdorf Goodman, along with a number of specialty stores across the United States. That said, my website is the best place to start, as we carry the widest assortment and offer the most complete story and background behind each piece.
