Instagram Beauty Hairstyles, Cuts & Color Trends All the Pop Stars Are Getting Bobs All the Pop Stars Are Getting Bobs Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande have joined the bob club
The bob trend is going nowhere, as Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish’s recent hair transformations prove. Both musicians are known for signature looks—Eilish’s black-with-green-roots style and Grande’s super-high ponytail—but have traded the familiar for a shorter, fresher chop, perfect for fall.
Grande’s hair change is probably the more drastic of the two. Not only did she return to her roots in a deep, dark brown shade—rather than the honey-blond she’s worn for Wicked —but she also chopped off inches, revealing her shortest hair yet. She styled her new bob with rolled ends for a cute, retro vibe, which is easy to achieve with any hot roller brush.
Eilish, meanwhile, has worn her hair shorter and redder for several months while filming the upcoming film adaptation of The Bell Jar. But in a new Instagram video, the Oscar-winning singer shows off her new choppy bob by flicking it back and forth, like anyone who’s ever cut their hair. Celebrities, they’re just like us!
The video already has over three million likes, with supermodel and Bazaar cover star Alex Consani commenting, “YESS BAWB.”
But Eilish and Grande aren’t the only pop stars ushering in a new bob era. Taylor Swift also returned to her bob roots recently, chopping off her hair after her summer wedding to Travis Kelce. Though not quite as short as Eilish’s or Grande’s, Swift’s bob (or lob?) sits just above her shoulders and looked beautiful styled in soft waves at the Academy Museum Gala on October 17. Swift famously wore a blunt bob, much shorter than her current cut, for her 1989 album promotion.
