Hearst Owned Beauty Skincare I’ve Been a Bridesmaid Six Times, and This Is the Face Mask I Use Before Each Wedding I’ve Been a Bridesmaid Six Times, and This Is the Face Mask I Use Before Each Wedding 111Skin’s face mask is the closest thing to a real facial
My life lately has looked like a remake of 27 Dresses. I’ve had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid six times in less than two years, which means full glam for multiple days in a row. While a professional facial before each wedding would be glorious, that’s not the reality. For every wedding I go to (whether I’m a bridesmaid or not), I pack a suitcase’s worth of skincare to give my skin a facial glow even if I didn’t get one. One item always makes it into my cosmetic bag: 111Skin’s facial masks .
I first came across 111Skin masks while on a trip to Anguilla. After three or four days in the sun, my skin was parched, dull, and irritated. I popped on one of the sheet masks, and within 20 minutes, my skin was noticeably brighter, plumper, and more hydrated. While K-beauty skincare masks are trending, especially those designed to stay on for hours or even overnight, 111Skin masks always have a place in my routine, especially when I just need a quick glow-up. Time is especially crucial when I’m being squeezed into a tight makeup slot among a dozen other bridesmaids. These masks not only revive my skin fast, but 111Skin also offers a range of mask types to choose from, depending on what my skin needs that day, from the depuffing Cryo line to the more luxe Celestial Black Diamond line , designed to lift and firm. Prices start at $85 for a pack of three to $140 for a pack of five. (If you break it down by cost per mask, it’s less than $30 for a spa-like facial at home.)
Each face sheet mask has a corresponding under-eye mask—another personal favorite element of 111Skin. Three of the sheet masks, including the Rose Gold, Cryo , and Celestial Black Diamond , come in a hydrogel mask. I typically steer away from hydrogel because of its slippery nature, but 111Skin’s version is weighty enough that it grips onto the skin. The Y Theorem mask , which is designed for soothing and strengthening stressed skin, swaps hydrogel for biocellulose—a lightweight gel-like texture that doesn’t budge.
On big-event days, like my endless weddings, I often reach for the Y Theorem or the Cryo sheet mask . I don’t like to experiment with active ingredients or exfoliants before weddings, and the Y Theorem utilizes the brand’s proprietary NAC Y2 complex (which is infused with vitamin C, NAC, and escin) to repair and rejuvenate irritated or stressed skin. Plus, this formula has calming centella asiatica and ectoin.
On the other hand, when I wake up puffy and inflamed, which happens more often after a welcome party, the Cryo mask is my first line of defense. It contains caffeine and a tetrapeptide to instantly—yes, really —depuff and make skin look more alive. I often keep this mask in the fridge for extra depuffing benefits, and I even pair the sheet mask with the Cryo depuffing eye masks to double down on reducing inflammation.
In an ideal world, I would use a sheet mask every day, but that’s not sustainable or economical, so I save these for special occasions. When I do incorporate 111Skin masks into my routine, whether for a wedding or a random weekday pick-me-up, my skin looks and feels visibly refreshed for a few days afterward. Plus, it’s a little moment of relaxation before a long day spent celebrating, eati…
