Sena's 2027 helmet range more high-tech than ever!

Helmet and intercom manufacturer Sena have been busy since the release of their first ANC intercom integrated helmet line last year with seven new helmet developments looking to come to market in 2027.

Most notable from their helmet lineup last year was the Phantom ANC , a smart helmet that was said to use active noise cancelation ( ANC ) to reduce road noise up to 20dB.

The new for ’27 Phantom KV hopes to tweak the current recipe with brand new 45mm speakers, up 10mm from the original Phantom ANC.

They have also strengthened the fibreglass shell by adding aramid fibre, which not only gives it more tensile strength but means the lid is now 50g lighter at 1640g in size medium.

Aramid was also chosen because unlike carbon fibre, it does not conduct electricity and interfere with or block mesh and Bluetooth signals.

They are also adding new colours to the range with a gloss black, midnight grey and a midnight with hi-vis accents, each of which displaying the new aramid fibre weave.

The controls on either side of the helmet look to be the same as before, and it still boasts a 35-hour runtime with 2.5 hour charge time. A front and rear LED light with brake light remains and a double D-ring fastener.

These new developments have put the price up to around £790, over £200 more than the outgoing model and should be available in the first quarter of next year.

The South Korian owned company have also added a new model called the Phantom Camera.

This one ditches the ANC capabilities, front light and aramid fibre for a 4K chin mounted camera that records at 30 frames per second and offers a 140-degree field of view.

The camera can also take 20-megapixel photographs and can record up to three hours 45 minutes of video with a microSD card storage of up to 1TB.

The phantom camera should cost around £600 at launch which is expected in the second quarter of next year.

The modular Specter is expected to get a massive upgrade to ANC next year though no price or release date has been announced.

This new iteration is said to have 60mm ANC speakers, the largest in class and 7mm larger than the Cardo speakers fitted to Schuberth’s C5 ANC .

The shell will be a mix of fibreglass and aramid fibre and will have a rear LED light with brake light functions.

The Camera variant will also have a 4K camera mounted to the top of the helmet, recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, though will only take 12-megapixel photos.

A new jet style helmet is also set for release in the first quarter of 2027.

The Recon will have a Mesh 3.0 intercom built in with 40mm Harman Kardon speakers plus an AI-powered, road noise lowering, microphone.

The helmet also boasts smart volume control that adjusts the units sound output depending on riding conditions. A welcome addition to an open face jet style helmet that are likely to be noisier than their full-face counterparts.

It will also come with an internal drop-down sun visor with a Pinlock ready external visor and is expected to cost around £460.

Perhaps the most visually interesting helmet in the new range is the Torque, which has trials look, whilst incorporating a drop-down sun visor and a half face style chin guard.

Made using a blend of fiberglass and aramid fibre it comes with wave and Mesh 3.0 built in and is driven by 40mm Harman Kardon speakers.

It also has a rear LED light with brake light function suggesting it’s a helmet designed for street use.

The mic is also AI powered to cut wind and road noise an…
