The bank deal follows the end of CI Games' PC publishing agreement with Epic Games earlier this year

The loan, arranged with Polish lenders Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Środowiska, will cover the soulslike sequel's remaining production costs, as well as a global marketing campaign and launch, the company announced on October 30 . It will also refinance all of the group's existing bank debt.

Polish export credit agency KUKE is guaranteeing 80% of the facility, which matures in August 2027. CI Games expects to repay it primarily from sales of Lords of the Fallen II, which is now planned for release in the first quarter of 2027. The studio said it will announce an exact date in December.

"We have secured full financing for the launch of Lords of the Fallen II without issuing new shares," said Marek Tymiński, CEO and president of CI Games' management board. "That matters for our shareholders, who keep their full participation in the game's potential success."

Tymiński, who is also CI Games' largest shareholder, has committed to keeping his entire stake for the duration of the financing. "I know how much potential Lords of the Fallen II has," he said.

The deal comes months after CI Games ended its publishing agreement with Epic Games, which would have made Epic the game's PC publisher and kept it exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC. The termination took effect on April 14, but CI Games didn't disclose it for more than a month, and it has not given a reason for the split. CI Games said the move would not affect its other work with Epic, including its use of Unreal Engine.

With the Epic deal gone, CI Games is now self-publishing the game, which, as GamesBeat notes, means it won't need to share revenue with an outside publisher. Lords of the Fallen II is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Polish developer CI Games revealed back in 2023 that Lords of the Fallen was its most expensive project to date, with total costs of $66.2 million .
