When Rihanna announced her haircare brand, Fenty Hair, back in 2024, the beauty community responded with a collective “Duh, that makes sense.” The singer and beauty mogul has always been a trendsetter in the hair space, a hair-color chameleon, and an icon who knows how to have fun with her hair. Her latest hairstyle switch-up is no exception.
Spotted arriving at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, the singer paired a cozy gray sweatsuit with a long-haired shearling jacket from Meta Campania Collective, white shoes, sunglasses, diamond hoops, glossy lips, and a half-up, braided, curly hairstyle. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a mix of box braids and curls, styled half-up for added drama and volume. The braids are new as of October 29, when she was last spotted out in Los Angeles, though styled curlier in the lead image above.
Rihanna is on a streak of embracing her curls. She attended the Dior show in Paris in September wearing her hair pulled up into a curly updo, and the Matières Fécales show with curly tendrils and a bun. She even posted an Instagram beauty tutorial last month wearing looser, soft curls.
If it’s been a while since you last wore your hair curly, braided, or half-up—consider this a sign straight from Rihanna. Cooler, less humid fall temperatures are the perfect time to try something new with your hair or return to a protective hairstyle you love.
