Yes, there’s been plenty of Chanel, sheer moments, and sneakers, but it’s her toughened up beauty codes that have stolen the show: a gelled-back bixie with tendrils of bangs, a slash of a smudged charcoal eye.
Now firmly back in the states as she readies to drop her next movie, Stewart is keeping things casual, leaning deeper into her punkier side with another hair transformation.
The actor and director was spotted out for dinner with Alia Shawkat at celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. The duo will star opposite each other in the forthcoming stoner comedy The Wrong Girls , which is directed by Dylan Meyer, Stewart’s wife.
Stewart wore a familiar off-duty uniform: a navy bomber jacket, black tee, and black jeans rolled and cuffed, with white tube socks and coordinating sneakers. It looks like she’s chopped her hair—more pixie than the currently trending bixie cut —and she wore it spiked up and slightly fluffy.

No stranger to a hair transformation, she’s long been fearless with how she styles it. Late last year, she debuted an undercut exposed by a bouncy high ponytail at the Governors Awards. Before that, Stewart tested out a pink dip-dye and returned to chestnut brown after a period of time as a bleach blonde. This latest look is probably the shortest it’s been since she shaved it all over. From a fringed mullet, to a blonde buzz cut, bobs in various lengths, micro bangs, and even a shade of citrus—Kristen Stewart’s looks are always executed with an edge.
With The Wrong Girls hitting theaters on August 14, expect to see more of this punked up crop out and about.
