Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The military spokesperson for the Iraqi commander-in-chief, Sabah al-Numan, confirmed on Thursday that neither a foreign nor local body has presented proof that recent regional drone attacks were launched from Iraqi territory.

In a statement to the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Numan urged accusing parties to submit reliable proof, saying that Baghdad has yet to receive such data.

The development comes following statements made by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, alleging that drone attacks targeting key oil infrastructure in the past few days originated in Iraq.

The Iraqi official indicated that the government will neither tolerate unilateral military acts from within its borders nor accept foreign violations of its territorial sovereignty.

Al-Numan’s remarks come a day after the United States and Saudi Arabia launched coordinated airstrikes targeting several bases of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), killing and injuring many fighters.

The joint operation targeted several logistical and weapons storage locations in different provinces in Iraq, escalating the current regional battle.

The PMF described the joint US-Saudi strike as a dangerous escalation and a clear breach of Iraqi sovereignty.
