Bazaar editors are major fans of just about anything singer-songwriter and beauty mogul Rihanna does—from the star’s maternity style to her love of J’adore Dior parfum —and this week, she’s given us one more thing to add to the list: her mastery of one of the season’s best Y2K-inspired hair and makeup looks.
While on vacation in her home country of Barbados, the star debuted a playful half-up, half-down hair look complete with a middle part, a set of mini pigtails, and wavy face-framing tendrils that nod to the best of 2000s beauty. Speaking of Y2K, Rihanna’s makeup artist Hector Espinal continued the theme with her makeup look using Fenty Beauty, painting the star with flushed cheeks, brown lip liner topped with a high-shine gloss, and a subtly frosty yet smoky eye accented with a pop of inner corner highlights .
As she sipped a cool beverage wearing what appears to be a Christopher Esber Callisto Trinity dress , Espinal captured the glamorous look just in time for golden hour, which only added to her effortlessly sun-kissed glow. Since there’s still plenty of time left before the end of the season, we’re mentally bookmarking this look for summer events to come.
