The first batch of 500RR four-cylinder sportsbikes from new Chinese brand ZXMoto are expected to arrive in the UK from mid-September, priced at £5899 plus on the road costs.
Powered by a 470cc engine producing 83.1bhp at 13,500rpm, it’s set to go up against the £8799 (otr) Kawasaki ZX-4RR , plus £5599 (otr) QJMotor SRK421RR – with Bimota now also muscling into the screaming small sportsbike market with a £9749-on KB399 .
The 500RR is the first model from the brand to come to the UK and is said to tip the scales at 168kg wet. It features front winglets, a single-sided swingarm, a slipper clutch, and an approachable 800mm seat height.
The brand made their European debut at the EICMA trade show in Milan in November 2025 and are now being brought into the UK via Llexeter Ltd – the Exeter-based distributor of brands including Lexmoto , Talaria, and Lextek exhausts.
The brand were first established in 2024 by Zhang Xue – also a co-founder of the Kove motorcycle brand back in 2017 – and despite being such a young company they have already enjoyed an impressive run of success in the World Supersport championship, notching up six wins so far in 2026.
“The first batch of 500RRs is due to arrive in the UK within the next few weeks,” a Llexeter spokesperson told MCN. “Customers who have pre-ordered will be able to collect their bikes as soon as they arrive at their chosen dealership and the necessary preparation and registration requirements have been completed.
“We expect the first customer collections to begin from mid-September, allowing customers to get out on their new 500RRs for the new 76 plate and the autumn riding season.”
There are now 13 dealers signed up to stock ZXMoto machinery in the UK, and we’re told that initial customer response has been very positive. Bikes are also due to be on display at Motorcycle Live (MCL) running from November 21-29 at Birmingham’s NEC.
“We have already nearly sold through two containers of 500RRs, demonstrating the strong demand for the bike ahead of its arrival at UK dealerships,” the spokesperson added. “A second batch of 500RRs is expected to arrive towards the end of September, providing further availability for customers looking to purchase the model.”
Alongside sales, each bike will come with a three-year parts and labour warranty, with Llexeter’s parts warehouse said to currently store over 70,000 components.
On top of a healthy support back up, Llexter have also confirmed plans for a second model to enter the UK soon too – taking a departure from the road market to bring in a motocross model.
“The next model scheduled to arrive in the UK is the MX250,” they explained – a surprise move, given the niche marketplace in the UK. “We currently expect the MX250 to arrive in the UK this winter, with the first bikes anticipated to be in dealerships from around November.”
It’s always exciting to welcome a new brand into the UK, especially when it comes with a strong parts back-up and warranty.
The decision to move into motocross as a second model is a slightly bold choice though – especially when the brand showcased a number of mass-market road models at EICMA last year.
