Marc Marquez dominated the MotoGP Sprint race at Aragon to reduce the gap to championship leader Jorge Martin.
The key move of the race came at the very first corner when Marquez let the brakes off and went down the inside of Marco Bezzecchi to take the lead. In doing so, he prevented Bezzecchi from potentially pulling away in the early laps with his soft rear tyre.
Marquez was unchallenged for the remainder of the race and extended his unbeaten Sprint record at Aragon to three races. With Martin down in fifth, Marquez has reduced the gap in the championship to 33 points.
Alex Marquez made it a Marquez one-two much to the delight of the fans in the stands, whilst Bezzecchi completed the podium for Aprilia.
Pedro Acosta was fourth after besting Martin in a battle during the first half of the race. Meanwhile, rookie Diogo Moreira produced a fantastic performance for LCR Honda in sixth.
Fermin Aldeguer, who has signed for VR46 Ducati for 2027 , finished seventh in his first race back from injury, finishing ahead of British Grand Prix race winner Raul Fernandez.
Johann Zarco produced a heroic performance on his return from a serious leg injury to secure the final point in ninth. The Frenchman has been out of action since May due to his horrific turn one accident in Barcelona.
Jack Miller missed out on a point by a mere tenth for Pramac Racing Yamaha, but did finish ahead of factory Ducati man Pecco Bagnaia.
Alex Rins and Toprak Razgatlioglu finished 12 th and 13 th respectively, with Aragon being one of the circuits on the MotoGP calendar that the latter has raced at previously in WorldSBK .
Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder were 14 th and 15 th , with Joan Mir struggling down in 16 th after running wide on the opening lap of the race. Pol Espargaro, Franco Morbidelli and replacement rider Lorenzo Savadori were the final classified riders. Savadori is standing in for the injured Ai Ogura at Trackhouse Yamaha.
Luca Marini crashed at turn seven on the opening lap, whilst Fabio di Giannantonio went down at the final corner at the end of lap two.
Fabio Quartararo suffered a mechanical problem with his Yamaha on lap five, with smoke pouring from his exhaust.
