AJS have revealed full pricing and specification for the Ridgeway 125, the retro-styled little sibling to the recently announced Leten LT190, priced at just £2699 on the road.
MCN first reported on the Ridgeway back in July, alongside the Leten LT190 , as AJS moved to fill the gap left by the cancellation of its much-anticipated Imber earlier in the year. Full details for the Ridgeway were scarce at the time – now, AJS have confirmed the bike in full.
Power comes from an air-cooled, 124.8cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a single overhead cam and two valves, fed by electronic fuel injection.
It produces a modest claimed 8bhp at 7000rpm, driving the rear wheel through a semi-automatic four-speed gearbox and chain final drive – meaning no clutch lever to worry about.
While the bigger, more powerful and more expensive Leten uses adventure bike -inspired styling, the Ridgeway is pure rugged practicality – a pared-back cargo bike with a military look.
Dual-sport tyres front and rear (80/90 x 17 at both ends) would handle at least light dirt/gravel work and a front luggage rack, sump guard, and high-level exhaust complete the purposeful stance.
Like the Leten, the Ridgeway’s dual-purpose pillion seat flips up to double as a rear luggage rack.
At a claimed 120kg in running order with a 780mm seat height, the Ridgeway should be manageable for newer or shorter riders, while its 124.8cc capacity keeps it within reach of A1 licence or CBT holders with L-plates.
Braking is handled by a front and rear disc set-up with combined braking (CBS). AJS quote a claimed top speed of around 56mph (90km/h), with a seven litre fuel tank, and an economy figure of 157mpg as recorded on the Certificate of Conformity. The bike also meets Euro5+ standards .
Equipment includes an LCD odometer, electric start with kick-start back-up, and the option of black, green or orange paint schemes.
Every AJS 125 comes with a two year, unlimited-mileage parts and labour warranty, plus a year of complimentary roadside assistance. A range of accessories – including luggage boxes, mudflaps and cargo nets – will also be available.
The Ridgeway is available to pre-order now, alongside the Leten LT190, and is expected to arrive in October 2026.
Despite this being the less ‘serious’ of AJS’s new models, it could be the one to watch in terms of interest and sales. The only downside is that low power figure, which will limit its use on the open road.
