No one in the West Bank has faced demolition and eviction orders and threats more than the residents of Khan al-Ahmar from the Bedouins of Palestine, who today find themselves in a battle larger than themselves.
The poor and marginalized settlement is made up of several tents and homes in the heart of the West Bank, finally standing as a stumbling block against the establishment of the "Greater Jerusalem" project.
The far-right government is no longer satisfied with expanding the luxurious "Ma'ale Adumim" settlement and occupying a large area above Khan al-Ahmar, but has planned to annex all those hills to Jerusalem under the controversial "E1" project, which aims to end the dream of a viable Palestinian state.
"Al-Middle East" toured Khan al-Ahmar and spoke to its residents days after the Israeli decision to evacuate them and demolish their homes.
