BMW M unveil limited ‘100 Jahre Nürburgring’ editions of M1000RR, R and XR

BMW M and BMW Motorrad have unveiled joint ‘100 Jahre Nürburgring’ anniversary models, marking 100 years since the Nürburgring first opened. The full line-up includes six BMW M cars and three limited-edition BMW Motorrad M models: the M1000R , M1000RR and M1000XR .

Each of the motorcycle editions is limited to just 100 units worldwide, and come with the M Track Package as standard.

They are finished in a historical Nürburgring Green paint developed exclusively for the anniversary edition, along with anniversary decals, carbon wheels, a black rear swingarm and rear frame, and a seat finished in Alcantara-look material with embroidered ‘100’ detailing.

The fuel tank carries a painted Nürburgring silhouette, while the airbox cover features anniversary-specific design and an individual numbered marking for each bike.

The package is rounded off with an M Cover Kit for the M1000RR and M1000R, an exclusive M motorcycle mat bearing the 100 Jahre Nürburgring logo, and a rear paddock stand. Pricing and availability for the bikes will be announced separately.

“The Nordschleife has been part of the DNA of our M models for years,” said Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad. “With our special models for the 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring, we pay tribute to a place that has made motorsport history and, to this day, shapes the connection between racetrack and road like no other.”

Frank van Meel, CEO of BMW M, added: “The Nürburgring is much more than just a racetrack for us – it is a second home for BMW M. All our production vehicles are put through their paces on the Nordschleife. With the Edition 100 Jahre Nürburgring, we celebrate our long-standing and successful relationship with the Nürburgring.”

BMW Motorrad’s own connection to the circuit stretches back almost as far as the track itself, with the brand’s first Nürburgring victory coming in 1927 – just a year after the circuit officially opened on June 18, 1927. The 20.8km Nordschleife, with its 73 corners and significant elevation changes, remains one of the most demanding circuits in the world.

BMW are having a very busy year when it comes to special editions . It’s hard to keep up with all their anniversary activity . Unfortunately, it’s harder than ever to ride a motorbike around the Green Hell, so you can have a limited edition track session to go with your limited edition bike!
