The Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Mastercard® (see rates and fees ) and Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Legend Mastercard® (see rates and fees ) are closely-competing cards aimed at American Airlines enthusiasts.

Their annual fees — $350 and $695, respectively — are far enough apart to make it important to carefully consider which option is best for you. If you're going to spend an extra $345 each year on a card, you want to make sure you're getting at least as much value as you're paying for.

You should get the AAdvantage Globe if you often fly American but aren't loyal to the airline, while the AAdvantage Executive is at its most powerful in the hands of a dedicated American Airlines loyalist.

Since both cards earn AAdvantage miles , offer some level of Admirals Club access and provide day-of-travel perks for American Airlines, we'll need to dig deep into the details to highlight why each card fits specific types of travelers.

Annual fee $695 $350 Welcome offer For a limited time, earn 125,000 bonus miles after spending $15,000 on purchases in the first five months of account opening. Earn 60,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. Authorized user fee $175 for the first three authorized users, then $175 per authorized user $0 Quick picks by traveler type Best for Card American Airlines loyalists AAdvantage Executive Travelers who want to access Oneworld partner lounges AAdvantage Executive Travelers who fly with American Airlines often but not exclusively AAdvantage Globe Those who don't visit Admirals Clubs more than four times per year AAdvantage Globe AAdvantage Executive vs. AAdvantage Globe: Welcome bonus For a limited time, new Citi / AAdvantage Executive cardholders can earn 125,000 bonus miles after spending $15,000 on purchases in the first five months of account opening.

According to TPG's September 2026 valuations , these bonus miles are worth $1,813. This is the highest-ever offer we've seen on this card, so now is a great time to apply.

On the other side, the Citi / AAdvantage Globe offers a welcome bonus of 60,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

According to TPG's valuations, these bonus miles are worth $870. This is a fairly standard offer for this card, so we recommend waiting for a better one.

Keep in mind that you won't be eligible for one of these welcome bonuses if you earned one on the same card in the past 48 months . That includes any card that you earned a welcome bonus on in the past 48 months and then converted to either the Globe or Executive.
