In commemoration of the 55th anniversary of 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory , Netflix delivered a brand-new reality series, Wonka’s The Golden Ticket . Wonka is known for making dreams come true, and this reality series is no different. 12 lucky Golden Ticket winners were picked to take part, as they competed for a lifetime supply of money. Only one can win, as a chocolate river, lickable wallpaper, a forced-perspective hallway, and 'Wonkavision' challenges are traversed.
But this has been no Glasgow Wonka disaster , as it has now been revealed that Wonka's The Golden Ticket is one of Netflix’s biggest unscripted launches in recent memory. Debuting at number two on its English-language TV chart, the series accumulated a whopping 4.6 million views in its first week , which matches the viewership of Love is Blind Season 10. This ambitious reality series might be an expensive project for Netflix and Eureka to produce, but it's proving a big success and is sure to earn a second season renewal. Today, the two-part finale for Wonka's The Golden Ticket premiered.
