LIA Awards 2026: MENA agencies secure one Grand LIA and 13 medals

Agencies across the Middle East and North Africa secured 14 awards at the 2026 London International Awards (LIA), with Impact BBDO emerging as the region’s biggest winner of the edition.

The regional haul comprised one Grand LIA, three Golds, five Silvers and five Bronzes, with work for clients including AnNahar, flynas, Puma, The Ring, Saudia Airlines, IKEA and Google Gemini.

Impact BBDO led the regional results with eight awards, including the inaugural Grand LIA, three Golds, three Silvers and one Bronze for work across AnNahar and Google Gemini.

The agency’s campaign, The Untaught History Edition for AnNahar won the Grand LIA in Democracy and Human Rights, alongside three Golds and three Silvers. The agency also won a Bronze in Production & Post for its Google Gemini work.

Next up was VML Riyadh, which followed with two awards for flynas’ Seat With A View, including a Silver in Digital and a Bronze in Creative Use of Data.

Finally rounding out the agencies, LEO UAE, BigTime Creative Shop, Saatchi & Saatchi ME and Memac Ogilvy UAE each took home one award.

A total of seven campaigns collected honours at the 2026 LIA Awards. The Untaught History Edition for AnNahar by Impact BBDO leads with seven awards including three Golds, three Silvers and a Grand LIA, making it the the most awarded regional campaign at the 2026 LIA Awards.

The work won the inaugural Grand LIA in Democracy and Human Rights category, as well as Gold awards in the Creativity in Media for Use of Print and Democracy; Human Rights for Countering Disinformation; and Transparency & Accountability categories.

The work was also awarded Silvers in the following categories: Creative Use of Data, Creativity in PR and Democracy and Human Rights for Youth Engagement & Future Voices.

Seat With A View for flynas by VML Riyadh follows with two awards, including a Silver in Digital for Travel & Leisure and a Bronze in Creative Use of Data for Data-Led Creativity.

Completing the silver winning campaigns is LEO UAE’s Leak For Real campaign, created for sportswear brand Puma.

The Legacy Continues for The Ring by BigTime Creative Shop, Let It Fly for Saudia Airlines by Saatchi & Saatchi ME and IKEA Phone Sleep Collection for IKEA by Memac Ogilvy UAE each won one Bronze or Silver.

Google Gemini’s “Music Class”, “Class”, “Corridor” by Impact BBDO picked up the one final award among the region – Bronze in Production & Post.

The Untaught History Edition for AnNahar by Impact BBDO was the region’s standout campaign at the 2026 LIA Awards, winning the inaugural Grand LIA in Democracy and Human Rights, three Golds and three Silvers.

The work addressed the absence of a unified account of Lebanon’s modern history in school education, with different versions of the country’s past shaped by political and social divisions.

For Independence Day, AnNahar used more than eight decades of its newspaper archives to reconstruct key events missing from school textbooks and published them as a dedicated newspaper edition.

The edition was distributed to schools, turning AnNahar’s archive into an educational resource and extending the role of the newspaper beyond daily reporting.

The work was recognised with Golds for Use of Print, Countering Disinformation and Transparency & Accountability, alongside Silvers for Data Collection and Research, Public and Political Affairs and Youth Engagement & Future Voices.
