Kyle Ryde has made history at Brands Hatch by becoming the first rider to successfully defend the British Superbike Championship title with a different manufacturer.
Ryde needed a top five finish to clinch his third consecutive title, and he did just that by finishing third. Ryde won his first two title with Yamaha before switching to Ducati for the 2026 season.
The Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati rider is the first rider since Niall Mackenzie to celebrate three consecutive titles.
Ryde’s main title rival Scott Redding did everything he possibly could to try and take the title fight to the final race, but ultimately his second victory of the weekend was not enough.
Redding came out on top in tense scrap with Ryde in the early stages of the race and rode off into the distance to make it two wins from two so far this weekend .
Bradley Ray also got the better of Ryde to finish second and confirm his third-place spot in the championship. Ryde dug deep in the closing stages to keep Leon Haslam and Ryan Vickers behind him.
AJN Steelstock bimota duo Max Cook and Joe Talbot finished sixth and seventh respectfully, with Yamaha trio Rory Skinner, Christian Iddon and Danny Kent.
Lee Jackson finished 11 th ahead of Jason O’Halloran and Josh Brookes, with Scott Swann and Glenn Irwin securing the final points available in the race.
Eugene McManus crashed out of the race on the third lap at Graham Hill Bend following contact from Fraser Rogers, who was given a long lap penalty as a result.
Richard Kerr retired from the race on lap five with a technical problem, whilst Rhys Irwin crashed out at Hawthorn Bend on lap seven.
The final race of the 2026 BSB season is scheduled to begin at 15:45 and will be followed by the traditional championship presentation ceremony on the start/finish straight.
