Aprilia reveal limited-edition RS660 Phillip Island Tribute as circuit exits MotoGP calendar

Aprilia have revealed a limited-edition RS660 Phillip Island Tribute to mark this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix – and to bid farewell to a circuit that is set to drop off the MotoGP calendar from 2027 after almost 30 seasons.

The tribute bike wears a white base colour with green on the side panels and tail and red wheel rims, mirroring the colours of the circuit’s logo. That logo – formed from the track layout – sits on the side panels above the words ‘Phillip Island Circuit’ and a chequered flag.

A badge on the fuel tank records Aprilia’s win tally at the venue, each bike carries a serial number on the steering head plate, and a pillion seat cover is fitted as standard.

Mechanically the bike is unchanged from the standard RS660, which was updated for 2026 with more power, a new 5in TFT dash and revised aerodynamics. Its 660cc parallel twin produces a claimed 103.5bhp at 10,400rpm and 51.6lb.ft of torque at 8,400rpm, with a 47bhp A2-restricted version also available.

The full electronics suite carries over, including traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and cornering ABS, all governed by a six-axis IMU, plus launch control, an up-and-down quickshifter and cruise control.

Aprilia Racing have taken 10 Grand Prix wins across the classes at the fast, flowing Australian track, as well as World Superbike victories on the RSV4 superbike . It was also at Phillip Island in 2025 that Raúl Fernández’s RS-GP win brought up Aprilia’s 300th victory in the world championship, making them the most successful European manufacturer in the history of the series.

We tested the top-spec 2026 RS660 Factory recently and awarded it four stars, praising its ‘thumping, driving, linear power delivery’ and the way it balances easy road riding with ‘pin-sharp track action’ – though we noted it remains comfortably the priciest sports middleweight on sale. The standard 2026 RS660 costs £10,540 in the UK, with the Öhlins-equipped Factory at £12,395.

Aprilia have not yet confirmed how many Phillip Island Tributes will be built, nor UK pricing or availability – though given the unique livery and standard-fit seat cover, expect a premium over the base bike. The model makes its public debut on the Aprilia stand at EICMA in Milan, which runs from November 5-8.

Many MotoGP fans are sad to see Phillip Island leave the calendar after this season, and so this is a smart move from Aprilia – who have also marked such success on the Island over the years. The RS660 is a great little sportsbike, too, and this will likely sell more easily than a full-blown RSV4 superbike would have.
