Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Total Iraqi crude oil exports routed through Turkey’s Ceyhan terminal rose to 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) on Sunday evening, November 1, 2026, marking the highest export volume recorded since pipeline flows through Turkish territory were officially restored.

The surge reflects a substantial 150,000-bpd throughput expansion over the previous 350,000-bpd baseline, driven by the integration of southern crude from Basra into the northern pipeline network.

According to oil industry sources across production, the federal government achieved the 43% export expansion by trucking crude extracted from Basra fields north to the Khurmala junction. From Khurmala, the crude enters the primary Iraq–Turkey export pipeline traversing the Kurdistan Region toward the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.

The current 500,000-bpd export mix breaks down as follows:

The multi-field supply strategy transforms northern export dynamics, utilizing available spare capacity within the northern pipeline grid to diversify export conduits beyond southern offshore terminals and boost total federal crude commercialization.
