The new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveals an extremely angry Hulk

A new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released, revealing the Hulk's first appearance in the film, along with a glimpse of the mysterious character played by Sadie Sink.

The trailer, which can be watched below, starts with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) expressing his concern about a change occurring within him that he struggles to control. He appears to be losing control during a confrontation with Scorpion (Michael Mando). Later, Peter Parker is seen lying on his bed in a state of depression, watching social media clips featuring his ex-girlfriend Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson and his close friend Ned, who no longer know who he is after the events of No Way Home.

Parker discovers that he is literally web-slinging from his wrists, and in shock, he turns to Bruce Banner for help. Banner is asked about the possibility of suppressing the mutated DNA, only for the Avenger to reveal that he’s using a device to prevent him from losing control and turning into the Hulk. It’s clear Spider-Man is going through an extremely tough time.

The conversation then shifts to the mysterious villain in Brand New Day, described as "an uncontrollable threat that we can’t even see." At this point, we get a very brief glimpse of Sadie Sink's character, which hasn’t been officially revealed yet. Many believe she embodies Jean Grey, though no confirmation has been offered as of yet.

Next, we see some sort of pulse, possibly a psychic attack, that seems to freeze New Yorkers in their tracks. Spider-Man is said to be the only person shielded from this ability and the only one able to sense it, likely due to his spider-sense. It appears that the entity responsible for this power can control the minds of others and shift from person to person. However, Spider-Man can distinguish it and begins to pursue it. What or who is it after? Is it Spider-Man himself?

Later, we see Peter talking to Ned and MJ, who is now romantically involved with someone else. The mysterious villain possesses the mind of a passerby and threatens MJ in front of Spider-Man. Has he figured out his true identity at this point?

Spider-Man confronts the villain saying, "You won't get away with this." But a voice that sounds like Bruce Banner responds, "But he might." At that moment, we see the device Banner was wearing shatter, revealing the Hulk. Did Sadie Sink's character take control of Banner's mind and shatter the device?

It seems the Hulk attempts to harm MJ, prompting Spider-Man to intervene and assist her. He asks her to trust him, and she agrees. The two then start swinging before asking for help from the Punisher. We then see Spider-Man with completely dark eyes fighting the evil ninja organization The Hand in a manner that seems like an enhanced version of his abilities. We also hear wise words from Aunt May from beyond the grave.

The trailer leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions. We still don’t know the character played by Sadie Sink. Will the Hulk ultimately join Spider-Man and the Punisher? Is there a bigger threat in the film that the heroes need to face? How does all of this connect to the current and future events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

"It’s a brand new day for Peter Parker. As he dedicates all his time to fighting crime as Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers him, and with the pressure of seeing his old friends move on with their lives without him, a change begins to form within Peter that he may not be able to control. But that transformation could also be the only thing capable of stopping a shocking new threat facing the city and the people he loves, a powerful villain that no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
