The U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on 3 individuals and 5 entities linked to Hezbollah, “for obstructing peace,” including Hezbollah leader Mahmoud Qamati and former minister Sleiman Franjieh for his connections to Hezbollah.
The Treasury Department noted that the sanctions were imposed on individuals gathering money for Hezbollah, in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.
