0 Twitter Telegram Whatsapp Facebook The Resident Evil series has become a massive universe filled with characters beloved by fans. Fortunately, Capcom understands the importance of reintroducing many of these characters and building their legacy across the different installments. However, even some characters that have only appeared once have left a significant and impactful record on screen. When it comes to the "heroes" or good characters in the series, there are several who stand out as the strongest in its history.
Of course, this ranking isn’t solely based on physical strength, as some characters possess combat skills that rival those of their more physically powerful counterparts, allowing them to face the most dangerous threats with almost equal efficiency.
Some might argue that Leon should rank higher on this list. After all, during the events of Resident Evil 4, he faced off against a religious cult and rescued the president's daughter with limited assistance, showcasing how far he has come since his debut as a rookie cop in Raccoon City.
Additionally, his appearance in Resident Evil Requiem showed that even though he's nearing retirement age, he can still take down zombies more efficiently than most other characters. So, if you want to consider his rank equal to the next character, I wouldn’t differ greatly with that opinion. The only reason for placing him here is that I've never seen him punch a rock. Call me when that changes.
Speaking of "the man who punches rocks," Chris Redfield is undoubtedly the most prominent character in Resident Evil. He may be absent in some installments, but he's often reliable to appear at least briefly in most games, and when he does, you can expect him to turn a number of zombies into pulp.
It’s not just about the famous rock punch, though; Chris has repeatedly proven himself as a strong martial artist and military leader. The death toll associated with him has become so massive it's hard to track, and it would have been easy to put him at number one were it not for another character holding a particularly special trump card. However, when it comes to regular humans, Chris easily tops the list.
The only person surpassing Chris is Albert Wesker's son, which means Jake possesses abilities that the other regular heroes lack, including genetic immunity. I can’t claim I’ve experienced a zombie apocalypse, but that seems like a crucial advantage in such circumstances.
Add to that high recovery speed and physical strength surpassing regular humans, and you have a character who almost outshines everyone else due to his genetic superiority. But he doesn’t just rely on Wesker’s genes; he has also undergone combat training during his time as a mercenary, which has made him a professional fighter indeed.
It would be interesting to see his return in a future game, but it seems Jake's power might be so great that Capcom may hesitate to bring him back into the limelight.
I always look for a good story, a well-crafted script, and an exciting dramatic plot in any video game, and I have no objections to exploring competitive games with innovative and thrilling ideas.
