The Israeli military said on Friday that it carried out airstrikes overnight and continued to attack what it described as Hezbollah militants and the group's infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon.
It added that the strikes were in response to repeated violations of the ceasefire by the Iran-backed group, according to the Reuters news agency.
Lebanon's official National News Agency reported that at least 16 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes late Thursday amid the escalating fighting.
These attacks came as talks scheduled in Switzerland between Iran and the United States regarding their efforts to achieve a final resolution to the war with Iran were postponed.
Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon and its ongoing attacks on Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia, are key issues in those talks.
The postponement of these talks follows reports from Iranian-affiliated media that Tehran is delaying sending its delegation to Switzerland due to the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Lebanon.
