Matías Galarza of the Paraguay national team scored the fastest goal of the current edition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Galarza's goal came in the 64th second, surpassing the goal scored earlier by Morocco's Ismail Sebari against Scotland during their group stage match.
The Paraguay player fired a powerful shot from long range that found the back of the Turkish goalkeeper's net, marking the lead for the Latin American team, which had lost its first match in the World Cup against the United States 1-4.
The Turkish team had also lost 0-2 to Australia in the same group.
