Valve says Steam Deck 2 is getting closer

The Steam Machine is officially ready for launch, but that hasn't stopped us from wondering how close Valve is to revealing the long-awaited Steam Deck 2. Speaking to IGN before the Steam Machine review published today, Valve engineers hinted that Steam Deck 2 is closer than ever, but they still haven't seen the 'generational leap' they're waiting for to make a second-gen Deck worth it. Valve engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais said, 'I would say we've gotten closer than we were the last time we spoke, we're definitely getting there.' More on this topic, the price of the Steam Machine is around $1049 and for those following along, Griffais told us that Valve has a 'really good idea' of what Steam Deck 2 will be in November of last year, and reiterated that they are 'working hard' when we spoke to them prior to the launch of the Steam Controller earlier this year.
