6th Extinction Memorial Design Competition 2026

On June 25, 2026, the 6th Extinction Memorial Design Competition 2026 will be held. This open international competition in architecture and design is organized by the Australian Urban Design Research Center (AUDRC) at the University of Western Australia in partnership with TCL (Taylor Cullity Lethlean), one of Australia's most prestigious landscape architecture practices. The competition calls for architects, landscape designers, urban designers, artists, and students around the world to design a memorial that recognizes and witnesses the ongoing mass extinction event of species — the sixth extinction — driven by human activity. The participation is free and open to individuals and teams internationally.
