A look at the series' past on the occasion of the Black Flag remake!
0 Twitter Telegram Whatsapp Facebook The Assassin’s Creed series features dozens of games, and although the series has not always focused on powerful bosses, many of them have presented challenges for players over the years, especially in recent times, as the developer Ubisoft seeks ways to attract players in the long term. However, even the first Assassin’s Creed had its own boss that represented a significant challenge, so let’s take a look at the most notable bosses in the history of the series.
The Erymanthian Boar is one of the strongest bosses in the series and also one of the most annoying. This massive beast uses its tusks fiercely, stabbing many players before they even realize what's happening. Nevertheless, this is not its strongest attack.
Instead, players should beware of the foul odor of the boar. Players have nicknamed it "the Wind's Boar" for its ability to release a cloud of poison around it. This scent can destroy your health in an instant, making this battle nearly impossible if you play the usual way. Fortunately, there is a way to overcome this battle. If you gather a big bounty and lure mercenaries to the boar's lair, you can pay the bounty just before the battle starts, and they will take care of the boar for you.
The Assassin’s Creed series has recently moved toward using massive legendary monsters as bosses, but this does not mean that the early bosses were not tough. The Mentor is one of the best examples of that, being the final boss of the first game in the series.
It’s impressive that it has held up all this time, and it is safe to say the Mentor may not be as difficult today; nevertheless, the remainder of Assassin’s Creed typically involves taking everyone down with a single blow, so when the Mentor shows real resistance, it surprises you.
This villain also possesses the Apple of Eden, meaning he can clone himself, teleport around the battlefield, and even summon fellow Assassins to attack you. It's a significant leap from the original game to the point that it deserves a place on this list.
Fenrir surprises us with a swift attack, and this creature looks like something out of Bloodborne or one of FromSoftware's games, but he is here in Valhalla. Those familiar with Norse mythology will recall that Fenrir is prophesied to be Odin's killer. And since you play as Eivor, the human embodiment of Odin, it makes perfect sense for this battle to be so difficult.
Fenrir is enormous but moves with astonishing speed, and don’t forget that he can burrow underground, disappearing from battle and then returning with great force. The best you can do is try to hit his knees with arrows, but even then, this battle will take a long time.
I always look for a good story and a well-crafted scenario along with an exciting dramatic plot in any video game, and there's nothing wrong with venturing into competitive games with innovative and exciting ideas.
