The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Saturday that it had targeted American military sites in the region in response to a new American strike against Iran, without providing details about the American sites that were targeted in the region.
The statement from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard came after the semi-official news agency "ISNA" published a previous statement attributed to the Revolutionary Guard, stating that the response to any new American attack on Iran would be "quick and decisive," before the agency later removed the statement.
The U.S. military had conducted airstrikes on Iranian targets after President Donald Trump accused Iran of a "foolish violation" of the ceasefire following an attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
No injuries were reported when the ship was targeted by a one-way strike drone on Thursday, an incident that necessitated a planned evacuation of more than 11,000 sailors from the area.
In response, U.S. Central Command announced on Friday that it had targeted missile storage facilities, drones, and coastal radar sites, describing the strikes as a "strong response" to the drone attack, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard held both the United States and Israel responsible.
It said in a statement that "the unprovoked aggression launched by Iranian forces against commercial maritime traffic constituted a clear violation of the ceasefire."
The statement described the strike, clarifying that "the dangerous Iranian behavior undermined the freedom of navigation, amidst increasing flows of trade through this vital route for international commerce."
U.S. Central Command also stated that the U.S. military "will continue to provide support and coordination to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels transiting the strait."
In response to that strike, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement later on Friday: "The American regime - which has a history of breaking treaties - has once again violated its commitments by launching airstrikes on the shores of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the pretext that a ship has violated an unauthorized course in the Strait of Hormuz."
The statement added: "If the aggression is repeated, our response will be broader than this."
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard also accused what it described as the "Zionist entity" - referring to Israel - of violating the ceasefire in Lebanon.
These developments coincide with the signing of a framework agreement for a peace plan between Israel and Lebanon in Washington on Friday. Recently, limited clashes have continued between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, backed by Iran, in southern Lebanon, despite the ceasefire.

Before the announcement of American airstrikes on Iran, President Trump said "you will see" in response to a question about whether the United States would respond to the Iranian attack.
Earlier on Friday, President Donald Trump stated that "Iran launched at least four one-way attack drones toward ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz," confirming that one of the drones struck the deck of a large cargo ship, causing material damage without preventing it from continuing its journey.
Trump added, in a post on the "Truth Social" platform, that American forces shot down three other drones, considering the attack to be a "clumsy violation" of the ceasefire agreement.
Iranian authorities did not issue an immediate comment on Trump's statements.
In a post on the "X" platform following the American strikes, Vice President J. D. Vance said that if Iran had "disagreements about how to implement the memorandum of understanding, they could simply make a phone call."
However, Ibrahim Azizi, head of the National Security Committee in the Iranian parliament, stated on social media that the United States "has attacked Iran again amidst negotiations...
