Players will have three modes to choose from: Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced, with the latter requiring a display that supports 120/240Hz, while Performance mode offers 60 frames per second with standard ray tracing, including ambient lighting, whereas Fidelity and Balanced modes provide expanded ray tracing that includes reflective surfaces, although the former runs at 30 frames per second, while the latter offers 40 frames per second, and all three modes run at 2160p with image enhancement.
So, what makes the PS5 Pro so special? Aside from offering the same modes and frame rates available on the base PS5, it provides extended ray tracing across all modes, and the enhanced 2160p resolution is enabled across all modes, thanks to the improved version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. Players can also expect improvements in hair, with individual strands displaying realistic interactions.
However, this varies depending on the situation; for example, Edward enjoys this feature in all gameplay modes, but the Fidelity mode grants the same advantage to nearby non-playable characters, and at least all modes display strand-based hair for all characters during cinematic scenes, so even those who prefer higher frame rates will be able to enjoy this level of detail.
I always look for a good story and intricate scenarios and exciting drama in any video game, and I have no objection to exploring competitive games with innovative and exciting ideas.
