The document also shows that the game was initially rated as "not suitable for children under 10 years," before a final rating of "not suitable for children under 12 years" was adopted. IGN cannot verify the authenticity of the document, but its circulation has ignited a wide wave of speculation among players, especially with the possibility of the Metroid series getting a new game shortly after the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond in December 2025. Some fans believe that Metroid Ravenous could be a direct sequel to Metroid Dread, pointing to the name similarity with the character Raven Beak, the main antagonist in the game.
