New Metroid Game for Switch 2 Emerges in Brazilian Rating

The Brazilian government may have revealed the new Metroid game after it appeared in a rating published by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security in Brazil. According to reports, the rating document leaked on July 1 before it was quickly deleted, but several players managed to capture images of it, which later spread widely across forums and social media platforms. According to the document, the game is titled Metroid Ravenous, with the production year noted as 2026. The document also shows that the game was initially rated as "not suitable for children under 10 years," before a final rating of "not suitable for children under 12 years" was adopted. IGN cannot verify the authenticity of the document, but its circulation has ignited a wide wave of speculation among players, especially with the possibility of the Metroid series getting a new game shortly after the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond in December 2025. Some fans believe that Metroid Ravenous could be a direct sequel to Metroid Dread, pointing to the name similarity with the character Raven Beak, the main antagonist in the game.
