Either in the top spot or at #2 worldwide, just below Off-Campus , per FlixPatrol , the series is proving that sweet comfort stories can not only deliver in quality, but can bring in millions of viewers.
But while many of these streams might've tuned in simply for the lake town romance, plenty of others came directly to Prime Video to see the adaptation of their fan-favorite, bestselling book. The eight-episode series, which stars Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett , is based on Every Summer After , a 2022 romance novel by Carley Fortune . It’s a story about grief, it’s a story about mental health, and so I felt like it was in good hands with them.”
While Every Summer After and its Prime Video adaptation fit comfortably in the YA category, Meet at the Lake explores similar themes, but is a more mature, grown-up romance instead . The novel follows Fern Brookbanks and Will Baxter, two people who share a chemistry-defying day-long date in their early twenties but lose contact right after it. They even made a pact to show up one year later at the same place, but while Fern made it, Will neve…
