What Are The Odds lands on FAMM on August 21, and Smith previewed it today with a new song with Wizkid , “Alive.” A music video, which follows the singers as they dance, sweat, and flirt their way through a Paris summer night. Smith’s frequent collaborator P2J produced the 12-track What Are The Odds, which marks Smith’s first new album since 2023’s Falling or Flying . Per a press statement, the pair began discussing making a dance record shortly after finishing their 2023 hit “Little Things.” Besides Wizkid, the LP’s only other feature comes from grime rapper Devlin; he appears on “This City,” a reimagining of his 2010 track “London City.”
So far this year, Smith has contributed an original song to the soundtrack for Riz Ahmed’s Prime Video series Bait , played on the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live UK , and celebrated the tenth anniversary of her breakout hit “Blue Lights.” Smith will spend her next album release day co-headlining London festival All Points East with Tems.
