Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will not only enhance graphics or increase resolution, but it seems to offer a true reimagining of the original game experience, expanding combat systems, adding new secrets, and giving players greater freedom to explore the Caribbean like never before.
Among the most notable additions revealed by the development team is a radical overhaul of the diving system. In the original version, players could only dive at specific locations using a diving bell, but in Black Flag Resynced, the depths of the sea will be fully open for exploration.
Josie Markanen, the technical director of the game, said in an interview with GamesRadar+: "The dive locations are still there, but now you can dive anywhere within the game world. We invested in the feature that has been available in the Assassin’s Creed series since Origins, which is the ability to dive freely, and then we created entirely new underwater locations, including many new shipwrecks scattered near the coasts."
This addition seems to be one of the most logical changes when reviving a game released 13 years ago, as the standards for open-world game design have changed significantly since Black Flag was first launched, and the Assassin’s Creed series itself has evolved remarkably.
The team could have just recreated the diving system as is to please fans of the original version, but expanding the marine exploration gives the game a modern touch while preserving the adventurous spirit that made Black Flag one of the most popular installments in the series.
For treasure-hunting enthusiasts, freely wandering the ocean floor in search of gold and buried collectibles seems set to become an adventure in its own right, rather than just a limited side activity.
Markanen also hinted at the presence of new "little secrets" scattered throughout the world, aimed at adding a "new dimension to exploration" and giving players additional reasons to wander the seas and remote areas.
Although he did not reveal the nature of these secrets, the door remains open for all possibilities. The game might include hidden references or Easter Eggs inspired by popular culture, and possibly nods to famous ships and maritime legends, making every journey at sea an opportunity to discover something unexpected.
Speaking of this game, here is our article on three things in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced that excite everyone before the launch.
I love video games since the days of the family system, and I prefer adventure games like Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed (before it turned into RPG), I have no bias towards any home console for me the best is the one that offers the most distinctive games. What matters to me is the experiences with engaging narratives because the story is the essence of fun more than gameplay.
