Bethesda leveraged the ongoing debate about the future of physical games to promote the physical version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2, in a short clip it described as a “physical treasure” (كنز فيزيائي), prominently featuring the red game cartridge.
This post came after Sony announced that it would stop producing physical games for PlayStation starting in 2028, a decision that sparked widespread criticism within the gaming community. It is believed that Bethesda's post carries a sarcastic hint at this decision, especially since the Oblivion Remastered version on Nintendo Switch 2 will include the base game along with the two story expansions on the same cartridge, rather than relying on Game-Key Cards or digital download.
