At least three people were killed in a Russian missile strike on Kyiv early Monday, with authorities reporting residents trapped inside a damaged apartment building, while more than ten explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv's military administration chief, Timur Tkachchenko, said via Telegram that three people were killed in the strike, having earlier warned of the capital being targeted by ballistic missiles.
More than ten explosions were heard in Kyiv during a warning of a missile attack, while the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that air defenses repelled the attack, urging residents to take shelter.
Klitschko added that a missile hit an apartment building in the historic Podil district, noting that several residents were trapped between the seventh and ninth floors, while debris from drones fell on another apartment building and in other neighborhoods of the city.

In a separate development, Russian authorities reported a temporary power outage in the city of Sevastopol in Crimea, following a Ukrainian attack targeting energy infrastructure, according to local authorities.
Russia has been launching missile and drone attacks on Ukraine since the beginning of its invasion in February 2022, while Kyiv has intensified long-range strikes inside Russian territory in recent weeks, targeting energy facilities and military objectives.
