The legend of Evel Knievel will live on in Las Vegas museum with well-known memorabilia

It’s hard to think of a more appropriate spot for an Evel Knievel museum than the outrageous ‘sin city’ of Las Vegas.

So it makes perfect sense then that The Evel Knievel Experience – the official museum of the legendary stunt rider’s life – has moved from Topeka in Kansas to the Downtown district of the Nevada city.

The interactive museum boasts a massive collection of memorabilia, including some of the actual motorcycles he used for his stunts, the Skycycle X-2 steam-powered rocket he used to try and jump the Snake River Canyon and a collection of his spectacular Elvis-style leather jumpsuits.

More sobering is a display of the actual Bell helmet he used for his famous failed jump at Caesar’s Palace in 1967 – where he ended up in a coma with a crushed pelvis.

The show includes some more modern features, such as a virtual reality jump ride over 16 cars, a ‘Jump Planner’ exhibit, and an in-depth look at his long list of broken bones and other injuries.

Add in the giant ‘Big Red’ Mack truck Knievel used for touring the US, and a fun nostalgic exhibit of retro toys inspired by his 1970s stunt career, and you have the ideal spot for a break from the slot machines and 40-degree heat that largely define Vegas.

Tickets cost $35, with more information found at ekexperience.com today.

The name Evel Knievel is legendary and this museum is a great way to keep that legend alive, showcasing loads of memorabilia for fans to see. And where better for it than Las Vegas?

Charlotte joined the MCN team as a Product Writer in February 2024. Growing up in a family of bikers, it was almost certain she would eventually ride herself, and she passed her test in July 2021. Though her early fascination with motorbikes was strong, her passion for horses initially took precedence, consuming much of her time and finances.Eventually, Charlotte transitioned from horseback riding to motorcycling, purchasing a Suzuki SV650s. Her collection grew to include a Honda CBR600RR, but an accident caused by faulty traffic lights led to the bike being written off and Charlotte sustaining some injuries. Undeterred, she returned to riding as soon as she recovered, continuing with her SV650s. Recently, she added an Aprilia RS660 to her garage, proudly continuing her journey as a dedicated biker.

Little legs but with big plans, to get on track and off-road.
