In a new interview with Mikael Kasurinen, director of Control Resonance, Kasurinen discussed the Resonants in the game, who are the hardest bosses in the game, but you are not required to defeat them all as many of them are optional and can be defeated in any order you wish without being bound to a specific sequence.
In the game, Dylan Faden will acquire special abilities from the bosses after defeating them, similar to Mega Man games. The game is set to release on PC and current-generation consoles on September 24.
