Iraq offers condolences to Qatar’s Emir on death of his father

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s top leaders offered condolences to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the death of his father, the previous Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Official statements were issued by Iraqi leaders following the official announcement from Qatar that the former leader passed away at the age of 74.

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi conveyed the condolences of Iraq to Sheikh Tamim following the death of his father.

The President expressed Iraq’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar and extended his deepest sympathies on behalf of the Iraqi government and people, according to the state-run news agency (INA).

In an official message, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi extended his deepest sympathies to Sheikh Tamim on behalf of the Iraqi government and people. He acknowledged the late Emir’s role in the historic transformations that shaped modern Qatar.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his personal sorrow and solidarity. Hussein expressed his condolences to X, mourning the death of the former ruler who played a crucial role in the development and worldwide rise of Qatar.

President of Iraqi Kurdistan Nechirvan Barzani also expressed his sympathies, describing Sheikh Hamad as a brilliant leader who transformed Doha into a worldwide political central point.

The head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, extended condolences to Sheikh Tamim and expressed his sympathies to the Qatari leadership following the death of the country’s former ruler.

The late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani led the state of Qatar from 1995 to 2013, guiding its transformation into a worldwide energy superpower until willingly handing over authority to his son, Emir Tamim.
