0 Twitter Telegram Whatsapp Facebook Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has not only introduced graphical enhancements and gameplay updates, but it has also added a range of new systems that give the Jackdaw ship greater importance during the journey through the Caribbean. One of the most notable additions is the Officers system, which provides players with unique characters that join the crew and offer advantages not obtainable through traditional ship upgrades.
Although upgrading cannons, armor, and equipment via the harbor master remains a key element, the officers add special abilities that directly influence naval battles and boarding operations, making their search a priority for any player looking to dominate the seas and face Templar ships in the best possible way.
In this guide, we review all the officers present in the game, how to unlock each one, and the abilities they provide to the Jackdaw ship. Here’s how to unlock all officers in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and make use of their abilities:
The system includes only five officers, most of whom join the crew as you progress through the main story, while one requires completing a series of side missions before becoming available.
You can follow all their specific missions through the Officers tab in the map menu, as their associated tasks appear there once you reach the appropriate stage of the story.
It is not necessary to complete all the side lines related to the officers to gain their services; completing the first recruitment mission is sufficient, while the rest remain optional for those who wish to learn more about their stories or gain additional rewards.
Adéwalé is the first officer that the player acquires, joining during the The Treasure Fleet mission in the second chapter of the story.
The events begin when both Edward and Adéwalé find themselves prisoners aboard a Spanish ship, before they collaborate to escape and take over the ship, which later becomes the famous Jackdaw.
Although Adéwalé serves as Quartermaster throughout most of the game’s events, he does not grant any special ability like the other officers, as his role is limited to the narrative aspect and crew management, while continuing to appear as a central character throughout the adventure.
After completing the This Old Cove mission in the fourth chapter, Adéwalé will inform you about the skilled shipwright Lucy Baldwin, making her side mission A Proper Shipwright available.
Lucy is held captive aboard a ship within a British fleet near Salt Key Bank, and she must be rescued to persuade her to join the Jackdaw.
After rescuing her, she becomes responsible for upgrading the ship as Shipwright and grants one of the most important defensive abilities in the game.
When executing the Brace maneuver at the right moment before enemy projectiles hit the ship, Lucy significantly reduces the damage that the Jackdaw receives, making encounters against heavy ships less dangerous, especially in advanced stages.
Her quest line later includes additional details about her personal life and some family issues, but they are not required to benefit from her ability.
The next officer is The Padre, whose real name is Abel Galvão, and you can start his recruitment mission A Second Chance after completing This Old Cove mission as well.
Although Adéwalé describes him as one of the most fearsome pirates of the sea, he renounced his past life and turned to religion, before events persuade him to return and join the Jackdaw crew.
He can be found in the village of Caracol located in the southeast corner of the map, and after completing the mission, he becomes responsible for training the crew as Master-at-Arms.
His benefits do not end with participating in ship or fort boarding battles, as he also grants the ship the Ram Dash ability, which allows the Jackdaw to charge forward rapidly for a direct collision with enemy ships and deal strong damage to them, providing a new offensive option during naval battles.
If you wish to obtain the strongest offensive upgrade for the cannons, you must wait for the later stages of the story.
As Tobias “Deadman” Smith only becomes available after reaching the eleventh chapter, and then starting the series...
