US President Donald Trump said in a statement to Fox News on Wednesday that he may order strikes on electricity stations in Iran next week if an agreement with Tehran is not reached.
Trump added that the United States urged Iran to reach an agreement, stressing that he would not approve any agreement that does not ensure Tehran does not possess nuclear weapons.
He noted that Iran was two weeks away from possessing nuclear weapons, and had it not been for the bombing of its nuclear sites, that would have been prevented, he said.
Iranian television reported on Wednesday that clashes and exchanges of fire occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, coinciding with the implementation of the US blockade of Iranian ports which took effect on Tuesday at 8 PM GMT, according to what the US President announced.
