U.S. President Donald Trump accused China on Thursday of carrying out the largest data breach in electoral history, announcing that he would declassify intelligence information revealing "shocking vulnerabilities" in the U.S. electoral system.
Trump said in a speech to the nation delivered at the White House and broadcast on television, "For years, starting from the 2020 election cycle, the People's Republic of China has executed what is believed to be the largest data breach in electoral history, unlawfully acquiring files of 220 million American voters."
More than 60 lawsuits filed by Trump and his allies have not resulted in any ruling proving the existence of fraud capable of changing the outcome of the 2020 election, nor have recounts and audits by the Department of Justice reached any result supporting his claims.

Trump indicated that intelligence information regarding election interference "has been kept secret for years," accusing what he described as "elements of the deep state" within intelligence agencies of colluding and covering up Chinese interference, according to his statements.
He added that intelligence reports, as he stated, indicate that "the policy of the Chinese Communist Party since 2018 has aimed to support any opposing party and push them to resign."
Trump accused Beijing of pressuring journalists to write reports against him and creating a special unit to exploit American voters' data that he said had been hacked.
The U.S. President affirmed that election integrity is a fundamental requirement for the strength of the United States, saying, "No country can be great unless its elections are honest."
In another part of his speech, Trump spoke about the U.S. economy, noting that financial markets are at record levels, inflation has decreased, and the country is witnessing high levels of investment, adding, "We are now the best country in the world."

Trump said, "They and others in the media are part of a scheme. Such fraudulent practices should lead to the revocation of their licenses. They are using public airwaves worth billions of dollars without paying any compensation at all. They pay nothing," specifically mentioning the networks "ABC" and "NBC."
Trump claims that his defeat in the 2020 election was due to manipulation, although more than 60 lawsuits have not resulted in any ruling proving that, nor have recounts and audits led to anything that could change the result.
