State media reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said it attacked an American command center for special operations in al-Tanf, Syria, in response to the killing of Iranian soldiers in Iranshahr.
In a statement published by Iranian television on the Telegram app: “The Revolutionary Guard announces the execution of a surprise attack on the enemy's special operations command center in the Syrian Tanf area.”
The United States had announced last February the withdrawal of its forces from this base and their handover to the Syrian authorities.
