Bradley Ray produced a sensational performance in the opening British Superbike Championship race at Oulton Park to put his McAMS Yamaha back on the top step.
Ray was surrounded by Ducati and Bimota riders for the majority of the race but still managed to come out on top against those more powerful machines.
It’s Ray’s second victory of the season and his first since race one at Snetterton. The victory moves him six points clear of Leon Haslam in the battle for third in the championship, with the latter joining him on the podium in third spot.
Kyle Ryde recovered from 10 th on the grid to maintain his 100% podium record in 2026. With Scott Redding coming home in fifth, Ryde has extended his championship lead to 24 points…and his race finishing streak to 76.
Storm Stacey was fourth on the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati. It equals his best result of the season so far, and brings an end to an unwanted run of seven races without a top 10 result.
Ryan Vickers finished in sixth ahead of Joe Talbot, who was running in second at one stage after a strong start from fifth on the grid.
Jason O’Halloran and Christian Iddon finished eighth and ninth respectfully, with Glenn Irwin completing the top 10 onboard the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati.
DAO Racing Honda duo Lee Jackson and Josh Brookes were 11 th and 12 th ahead of Ilya Mikhalchik, with Danny Kent and Rhys Irwin claiming the final points.
Rory Skinner crashed out at Shell on the second lap, whilst Charlie Nesbitt returned to the TAG Honda garage at the end of lap three.
Max Cook, who started from pole , crashed at Cascades on lap 16, falling from fifth position. The AJN Steelstock Bimota rider was taken to the medical centre for a check-up after the high-speed incident.
Sunday’s BSB races are scheduled to take place at 13:35 and 16:30.
