U.S. travel executives have asked the Trump administration to commit to a lofty goal of just over 100 million annual international visitors by 2030, enough to steal the title of most-visited country from France.
The number was pitched during a Wednesday meeting between President Donald Trump and executives from the U.S. Travel Association, Hilton, Marriott, American Airlines, Booking Holdings, and other travel brands. The 100 million mark would be a 46% increase from 2025 and about 25% higher than the country’s pre-pandemic peak.
Industry executives are hoping the administration can capitalize on the World Cup tournament, which was hosted by 11 U.S. cities and 5 other markets in Canada and Mexico.
